Every day we breathe 21600times approximately but how many times we are aware of it. Breathing process is going on without our awareness but if we want we can control our breath. Just as we can choose how many times to chew a bite of food or adjust our stride when we are walking up a hill. So we can choose the manner in which we breath. Most of the time, however we run on “automatic”, allowing input from internal organ to manage the rate and depth of our breathing.  The life style management club Mantra emphasizes on choice, rather than run on automatic. Yogis have discovered the value of regulating respiration consciously. Science says that respiration fuels the burning of oxygen and glucose producing energy to power every muscular contraction, glandular secretion and mental process. Yogi’s says that the breathing is the link between the mind and the body and if we can control our respiration we can control every aspect of our being. But most people breath unconsciously and incorrectly, using only a small part of their lung capacity. (Our vital capacity of the lung is 5 liters which is the total amount of air you can breath in and out. But only a few portion of it 0.5 liter we use in ordinary quit breathing). The breathing is then generally shallow depriving the body of oxygen and prana essential to its good health.  Yes it is possible to regulate the respiratory motions according to our will and control the thought process to live a stress free happy healthy life through a systematic breathing or pranayama practice. The life style management club MANTRA deigned a stapes by stapes progressive pranayama practiceto to gain control over mind to control the psychosomatic disease like diabetes, asthma, hypertension, acidity, ulcer, and heart disease. Once we are starting to gain control over our mind not only physiological, our psychological and social status also enhance by increasing concentration and efficient in work. Gaining control over mind or competency in advance pranayama practice needed an integrated gradual progressive practice system. The classical literature of hata yoga generally wars students against experimenting intemperately with breathing exercises. Verse 15 of chapter 2 of HATA YOYA PRADIPIKA is typical “Just as lions elephants and tigers are gradually controlled, so the prana is controlled, through practice. Otherwise the practitioner is destroyed”.
Cautions to be judicious and we should respectful of breathing exercise because in other forms of fitness endeavors like practice of weight training, aerobic exercise, asana, experiments with diet we depend on our senses to tell us that we are exceeding our capacity or doing something inadvisable. But breathing exercises are different .In that realm dealing with phenomena that our senses, or at least our untutored senses are often unable to pick up, even though they can still affect the body. And because of this, those who are adequately prepared should undertake advance pranayama.
